Upcoming Financial Aid/FAFSA Nights
November 10, 2010
We are coming up on an important time for Seniors in terms of financial aid for college. On Wednesday, December 1st @ 6pm in the Multi-Use Room we will be having a Financial Aid night for seniors and their parents. We will be presenting an overview of the financial aid process, including information on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
We will also be hosting a Cash for College FAFSA Night on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the Computer Lab. Students with last names beginning with A-K will attend from 6pm-7pm and students with last names L-Z will attend from 7pm-8pm. This will give students & parents the opportunity to fill out the FAFSA online with the school’s reliable internet connection. I will also be in attendance to assist and answer questions. We will be handing out an information sheet listing the information you will need to complete the FAFSA at Financial Aid Night. All students who submit a FAFSA that evening will be entered in a drawing to win a $1000 scholarship.
I encourage every student to fill out the FAFSA by the March 2nd deadline even if you do not believe you will qualify for financial aid. Many colleges use this application to determine their own aid packages and scholarships as well. Also, if your financial situation changes for any reason, your student may then make a change to their application.
